We had our annual BBQ on Friday for the soccer team. It was a fun night. Famous Daves catering.
Coach Anderson asked Dads and Grandpas to feel free to pass on some words of wisdom. They did not need to be straight out of the Bible, but as we listened, much of the wisdom was Biblical. I took notes on my phone. Because I am nerdy that way. And because I need wisdom. If you were there, you may remember some of the statements. If you were not there, most of this list will make very little sense. But it's my sight so I will post what I want. I hope you enjoy: * Check your fly. * Never quit. * Unity and teamwork. * Keep your attitude right. * Unique personality. Child of the King - remember who you are. * Train up a child... * Lots of verses scare Randy * Remember who you learned from * Keep your clothes on in public * Don't claim to be perfect. * Don't dab in public * If you work hard, you'll never be out of a job. * Leadership is noticed * Hard work * Surround yourself with good people * Make your faith real. Give everything over to him. * Stupid -- > genius * Choose wisely * God will never leave or forsake. * Time flies - think future but don't overlook the present. Take no thought... * Enjoy and serve the Lord with each moment God gives you. * Recognize your blessings * Be content. * Do what most people won't, to get what most people want. * You are always being watched. * Parent support is critical. * Don't be full of yourself. * Give. * It is important how you respond to adversity. * Look for good teammates. * Find good coaches and learn from their wisdom * Momentum and perseverance. * Have passion. * Have an impact. * Servant leadership. |
