This is somewhat of a lame post. But it's been a while. I give verse quizzes in Bible class and I am usually just happy if kids put their name on the top of the paper, but every now and then someone has to be different and write in a circle or something like this...
I have never liked mushrooms. I am not allergic, but I wish I was. I don't even like them at the table while I am eating. I realize that it is a mental thing, and I don't care. I would likely go hungry if the only thing to eat just so happened to have cream of mushroom soup in it. People will say "you can't even taste them", but I don't care - it is the thought. I really don't know why I hate mushrooms. I don't think that I have ever tasted them. I have had them in things without my knowledge. When we go to buffets or potluck type eating venues, I won't touch anything that looks like it could be concealing mushrooms. I have gotten better over the years. One time I found out after the fact that what I had eaten had mushrooms in it and I threw up my meal. Vomit. I once turned down my half of a pizza because the other half had mushrooms - and I was really hungry. My wife will not cook with mushrooms even though she likes them. Because I love her, I told her she could have them in the house, but she doesn't bother. Others have known about my aversion to the shroom. One person tried to make a "point" by putting them in food and not telling me. I can't mention her name for she is dead to me.
God has been amazing in my life. We sang this song (by Chris Tomlin) in church and the part that stood out to me was when it says "sing when I lose my step and fall down again" because I feel like I do that all the time. Yet He forgives and loves and holds me in the palm of His hand. I believe that someday I will sing around the throne and it won't even sound hideous.
I can sing in the troubled times, Sing when I win I can sing when I lose my step, And fall down again I can sing 'cause You pick me up, Sing 'cause You're there I can sing 'cause You hear me, Lord, When I call to You in prayer I can sing with my last breath, Sing for I know That I'll sing with the angels, And the saints around the throne Not really sure how I was lucky enough to have such an amazing wife. Without her I would be lost. She is a great wife and an amazing momma. Stayed up late last night planning my daughters Valentines party because of her love for her daughter. It is nice to have a reminder of how lucky of a husband I am. She is the glue that keeps our family together. Part of the reason she was up late last night was because of her need to have things just right. I woke up this morning to her humming and singing this song... |
