This is something I put on facebook a bit ago. Thought I would copy/paste here also:
Facebook asks "What's on your mind?" I usually don't want to tell FB, but tonight I will. Even though, based on my feed, there will be those of you our there that disagree with me. Paying attention to current can be very discouraging. And the media (both right and left) always have an agenda to push. Lots about toxic masculinity out there. And if that's how the razor company feels, I have no issue with them telling us. I can honestly say that I have never been to a BBQ where a bunch of dads stood by and watched kids fight. Perhaps it happens somewhere. Boys need good men in their life to show them how to be good men. This is not a slam on single moms but rather a support for dads who chose to stay the course and be present and be a godly example to their children. There are toxic people in this world. Men and women. We have all been toxic at one point or another. Our Facebook comments betray us. I doubt there are any companies out there that are dumb enough to run an add campaign on toxic femininity. (I might get some hate for this) I think that it is toxic to be so concerned with my rights and my body, that I blind myself to what is right. I see a handful of posts today about abortions up to birth, if that is true, it breaks my heart. Both my kids were c-sections, and I KNOW they were alive before birth and both were loved before birth. As all babies should be. We are a confused nation. I would say it is because we have no moral compass, but that's not really it. It's like we all have a compass, but they are pointing to a different north. If only there were an absolute truth. But that's not an option, because that would mean some of us are wrong. Of course, if there is no real truth, then we can't really know right from wrong. And if there is no definite wrong, then nothing is toxic. And if that's the case, then all of these problems in the world are just imagined. So never mind. Have a good night. |
