MS/HS Students,
Sorry we are running a bit late this week. Quotes of the Week:
SPORTS: Varsity soccer has officially begun playoffs. They will play until they lose or until they win the state championship. Here is this week's schedule if they succeed.
Flashback of the Week: Chucks and Air Jordan sneakers have been spotted throughout the building. I owned each at various times during their first run. It appears the sequels are a bit more expensive. That said, they could make a good Christmas gift for your child unless they are still waiting off the coast of California. The sneakers, not your child. Deep Thought of the Week: What if everyone shaved their eyebrows and simply drew their eyebrows to match the mood they were in. Happy, sad, surprised, angry. I think this would be a good idea. Cheap Shot of the Week: There is no better feeling than to walk in the teacher’s lounge and see a tasty treat. This week it was some lovely dark chocolate. Until you took a bite and it turned out to be bakers chocolate. Such a dirty move. No names will be mentioned because the Ramblings doesn’t want to drag anyone through the mud, but it was the AP Psychology teacher. Thanks for listening. Because He Lives, Chris Rainear MS/HS Students,
I hope everyone enjoyed some time off. And I hope everyone enjoyed their conversations with your parents after conferences. I always feel like now is when the real work begins. Here are some thoughts. Lost and Found: The table is out of control. Never in the history of GCS has the lost and found table grown at such a fantastical rate. Students - check the table. Parents if you are reading this and are missing an entire dresser drawer of clothes, have your kids check the table. There are a few theories as to how the lost and found table has grown at such a rate:
Regardless of the reason, please take your stuff. It’s getting to the point of being embarrassing. Just sayin. Quotes of the Week:
Flashback of the Week: One of my classes was given 10 minutes at the beginning of the class to study (cram) for a quiz. After about 5 minutes I announced “5 minutes gone, we’re halfway there” at which point about a third of the class burst out in song. Just one more example that the 80’s were amazing and will never be forgotten. Philippians 1 - A couple more things I would like to ramble about. If you made it this far, more power to you. I will try to be brief.
Thanks for listening. Because He Lives, Chris Rainear PS: First student to respond to this email with the first 10 terms of the Fibonacci Sequence will get a donut. |
